Automatic Bank Drafting Service

Why Wait? Save Time. Avoid The Lines.

Have Your Utility Bill Payments Drafted From Your Bank Account

You can have your utility bills drafted from your bank account each month. It's easy. Just complete the Automatic Bank Draft Authorization Letter and return it along with a voided check to the City of Washington's Revenue Collections Office.

Your account will be electronically drafted on the Due Date printed on your bill each month. This transaction will appear on your monthly bank statement as an electronic draft along with the date and the amount of the draft.

Even though your account is drafted, you will still receive your monthly utility bill. If after receiving your bill you feel there is a problem with the amount due, you have time to call us before the draft date. Please remember also that if you change banks or bank account numbers, you will need to call Washington Utilities and complete a new draft authorization form.

In most cases we are able to draft your account in the same month the form is presented, but in some cases, depending on your billing date and the date the form is submitted, it may be the next month's billing before we can draft. Please continue to pay your bill by your usual means until you see the message "Account To Be Drafted" and the date of the bank draft printed on your utility bill.
