  • Multi-Purpose Meeting room
    This meeting rooms seats 40. For more information, please call 252.946.4300 
  • Local history/genealogy room - This collection houses over a 2,000-volume collection. It includes U.S. census records, archival and marriage records, manuscripts, local cemetery records, and back issues of the Washington Daily News (on microfilm).
  • Government documents (state and local) for public inspection

  • Internet (includes wireless)
  • Beaufort County Board of Commissioners 
    County commission documents are housed at the library and may be used for reference. DVD's of the County Commissioners' meeting are available at the library for check out.

Public Access Catalog

  • Periodicals
    General interest magazines are available at the library. These items can not be checked out. Six months of back issues are kept in closed stacks and used as reference resources for patrons. These items can be requested by filling out a magazine request at the Circulation Desk. Photocopying available at a charge of 25¢ per page. 
  • Newspapers - Brown library subscribes to state, local, and national newspapers. 
  • Microfilm Reader/Printer and manual microfilm reader with copies available at 40¢ per page
     The Washington Daily News is on microfilm to be used in the library.
  • NCLIVE is funded by the State Library of North Carolina. It is a collection of online databases that are available to public library patrons. It includes magazine indexes with full text articles, home and business telephone directories, consumer health and drug information and more.
